Blah....

Is it wrong that I want to stay home on New Years Eve? I know I'm getting old (I'll be 30 in February :o( ) but I feel like there are other people my age who are still excited to party it up tonight. I just feel...blah. The thought of going out downtown and standing out in the cold for hours just to hear some free music and watch our Grand Rapids ball drop just isn't appealing to me. It's COLD!!! Not just a little chilly, but cold enough to make me want to bundle up in 10 layers instead of wearing a cute club-type outfit that I would normally want to wear if I were going out. How do the people in Times Square ever decide what to wear? This is what I mean about getting old. 2 years ago there would have been no question of bundling up...I would wear my cutest outfit and deal with the freezing toes if it killed me. I've become something I never aspired to - PRACTICAL. Grr....

Lavanila LOVE!

Can I tell you how good I smell right now? I am SO in love with the Lavanila Vanilla Coconut rollerball fragrance my sister Alissa got me for Christmas. I seriously can't stop smelling myself and sighing with content. If you are a true vanilla lover, you will most likely fall in love with all of the Lavanila scents, but the Vanilla Coconut is my fave. It smells exactly like the Vanille Coco scented oil I purchased when I was in Europe 10 years ago and up until now nothing has recaptured that scent for me. Let me just say that after a long day at work with the afore-mentioned farter, this scent is a welcome change! Yum!!

Someone is farting......

So...we have a farter at work. Unfortunately, he sits right across the wall from me. I'm not talking about normal, run-of-the-mill farts. These are serious, over-the-wall, smelled from two rows away farts. Today has been pretty steady at a pace of about one fart per 10-15 minutes. Is it mean to make obvious comments about the stench even though the farter knows he is the culprit and is probably embarassed?
Blah! Why is it so hard to wake up in the morning? I pretty much love my job, so why does it feel like torture to have to wake up and get ready for work? I seriously need to start getting more sleep, but it's hard to fall asleep when there is always something else to do, even if that something else is just sitting on the couch perusing the internet while sort of watching Hoarders on dvr. Went to bed at 3 a.m. last night and woke up at 10 a.m. 7 hours of sleep isn't bad, right?

First Non-Introductory Random Thought Blog

So - the inspiration for my whole blogging experience? - The 88 Shimmer Palette from BH Cosmetics:

I know I'm probably WAY too old to be wearing anything other than taupe or plum on my eyes, but I just can't help myself! It all started with a YouTube video demonstrating Moulin Rouge halloween makeup by MissChievous:

Which lead to me watching another video and another on eyeshadow application, leading me to discover the beauty which is the 120 Palette, and thinking...I bet Kaylie would love that for Christmas. Then of course I find the website and see that the price is a mere $24.95 and if you buy 2 or more products your entire order is 10% off?!  Seriously?! Would it even make any sense to buy the makeup for Kaylie and not buy one for myself?

I don't think I've had this much fun doing my makeup in years. These eyeshadows are AMAZING for this price. They are very highly pigmented and blend fairly easily....and how could you not want to play with all those colors? I've worn a different eyeshadow look every day since the box came in the mail (shipping was extremely fast, btw). The only drawback is that I think my family had a secret discussion about sending me to Pine Rest when I showed up yesterday wearing a hot pink sweater with blue and hot pink shimmer eyeshadow.....I've become the crazy one.

First Blog

Ok, so this is REALLY weird for me. I've always had an aversion to blogs. Now you're probably thinking I'm weird for saying I had an aversion to blogs.....I mean, blogs are one of those things that you're either into reading...or you don't care either way, right? I mean, if you don't want to read...don't read. What did blogs ever do to you?

Anyway....for some reason the thought of blogging just seems like something for other people...people who wear Lisa Loeb cat-eye glasses and dress in vintage Hello Kitty and Ramones tees. Right? Whatev...I've decided to do it anyway. As a way to publish the random thoughts that pop into my head a million times a day and just aren't good enough to warrant a facebook post. You lucky reader, you. ;o)
